8676 New Handmade GRUMPY OLD COWBOY Heavy Harness Browband Headstall with ROBERT EVANS BUCKLES
This is a new handmade heavy harness browband headstall with two handmade buckles. The headstall is made from heavy harness leather and the bit attaches with latigo tie strings. The edges are beveled and hand rubbed. It was made by a grumpy old cowboy from Happy, Texas. He has been building cowboy gear since the 1970’s. He does a really nice job. It is marked with his stamp. The two buckles were made by made by Robert Evans. Robert is a bit and spur maker originally from Amarillo, Texas. His work is illustrated in Bits & Spurs Motifs, Techniques and Modern Makers by Ned & Jody Martin. Robert has been building bits, spurs, and cowboy hardware since 1994.The buckles are steel with a dark iron finish and are mounted with nickel silver engraved with a wiggle and wheat stalk pattern. The cheek piece buckle is attached with latigo tie strings and the throat latch buckle is attached with copper rivets.
