New Handmade GRUMPY OLD COWBOY Dark Heavy Harness Headstall DON ROGERS Buckle
New handmade dark heavy harness leather shaped ¾” slot ear headstall with a handmade buckle made by Don Rogers. Don is a long time bit and spur maker from Hereford Texas. Don has been building since 1975 and his work is sought after by cowboys and collectors alike. Don is listed in Bits and Spurs, Motifs, Techniques and Modern Makers by Ned and Jody Martin. The back of the buckle is marked Rogers. It is steel mounted with engraved nickel silver and brass. The buckle is attached to the headstall with latigo lace leather. The headstall is made out of really nice quality dark heavy harness leather. The edges are beveled and hand rubbed. It has straight bit ends and the bit attaches with latigo tie strings. It was made by Grumpy Old Cowboy from Happy, Texas. He has been building cowboy gear since the 1970’s and does a really nice job. It is maker marked with his stamp.
