10014 Handmade GEORGE BLACKWOOD Floating Spoon Bit
This is used handmade loose cheek bit with a floating spoon mouth piece made by George Blackwood. George is a long time bit and spur maker and began making spurs at age 20. He lives in Farmersville, Texas. George has been asked to make spurs and hardware for many well-known events. He was one of the spur makers selected to provide spurs for the Texas Style Bit and Spur Makers Association Woman's Protective Services annual auction along with other top makers. George is listed in Old Cowboy Saddles & Spurs by Gretchen & Mike Graham. The bit is steel with a natural patina. The cheeks are mounted with two pieces of engraved sterling silver and nickel silver bead wire. The spoon has one copper ring. It is not bent, broken, or repaired. There is not much wear on the rings. This bit has a lot of life left in it.
