10579 Doc Tate Nevaquaya Limited Edition Lithograph "Sandstorm"
This is a limited edition lithograph by Comanche artist Doc Tate Nevaquaya (1932-1996). Title is “Sandstorm”. Sandstorm was the first limited edition print offered by Doc Tate for sale. It is probably from the late 1970’s to early 1980’s. It is numbered 707/1500. There is damage around the edges that will be covered when matted and framed. There is a small spot in the upper left corner of the print shown in a close-up picture. It will be shipped rolled in a tube.

About the Artist: Doc Tate Nevaquaya was given the name Joyce Lee Tate Nevaquaya when he was born in 1932 at Apache, Oklahoma. He was always known as Doc Tate. During his life, Doc Tate was a teacher, Methodist lay minister, lecturer, historian, dancer, composer, singer, flutist, and painter. Doc Tate was a self-taught artist, flutist, and composer and gave numerous flute and painting classes throughout the country, including such prestigious institutions as Brigham. He received numerous awards for his art. He died in Apache, Oklahoma in 1992.
